Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name;
make known among the nations what he has done.
Sing to him, sing praise to him;
tell of all his wonderful acts.
Psalm 105:1-2
A Wesley Way of Living:
Get on fire for God and men will come and see you burn.
Quote of the Day:
"Happy moments, PRAISE GOD Difficult moments, SEEK GOD Quiet moments, WORSHIP GOD Painful moments, TRUST GOD Every moment, THANK GOD"

Hello Cross Lanes folks!
Happy Mid-Week Check In to you.
It has been a full couple of weeks these last two weeks. We’ve had flood recovery teams mucking out churches and homes all over the state. We’ve delivered a couple thousand flood buckets to Upshur and Lewis counties as well as other places. We’ve received 2500 newly packed flood buckets from the Scouts at the Jamboree. We had a team there as well and we helped pack 730 buckets in one day!
July was a fun month of outside worship which, after having the Dulcimers and Scouts lead us in two Sundays, wrapped up with a service Sunday where we worked on “Being the church!” We, together, packed 48 hospitality welcome packages for new visitors, 80 blessing bags for lobbies and waiting rooms, and built a 20 foot handicap ramp for a home in Dunbar (all in under an hour). MOST IMPRESSIVE!
Now here we are on the doorstep of fall and it’s time to ramp up our children’s and youth programming at church and I want to invite you to be a part of the fun! We need volunteers to help start and keep these programs running. Our dream is to have three age groups on Sunday and Wednesday so the children of our church will get age-appropriate instruction and be able to learn with kids of their own age.
This means we need you. And you. And you!
Call the church office to sign up and help bring this dream to life!
Finally I want to personally invite you to be a part of our membership classes next week. You can read about them more for times and dates in another article here in the Digest. We have been studying and worshipping on the Marks of a Methodist. If this has been hitting home for you, whether you are a long time member or are wanting to join for the first time, come and join me on one of the four days next week for 2 hours and let’s talk about growing this connection that is Cross Lanes United Methodist Church!
Many Blessings!
