If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat;

    if he is thirsty, give him water to drink.

Proverbs 25: 21

A Wesleyan Way of Living:

I urge believers to “do good to those who hate you” and to “love your enemies” as a reflection of God’s own mercy

John Wesley

Quote of the day

“The best way to destroy an enemy is to make him a friend.”

Abraham Lincoln

From Kathryn Russell:

My large crockpot was taken after one of the Wednesday night dinners and I’ve never gotten it back and desperately need it as it’s how I make a lot of dinners throughout fall/winter for my family with our busy schedule. It was also one of my wedding gifts. This is what it looked like.

The theme for the last Wednesday supper this month is Soup for Pastor Appreciation Month! The church kitchen will provide a roasting pan full of chili, and a bunch of cornbread.

The congregation is invited to bring crock pots of soup, salads, sandwiches, or desserts! In recent months, we’ve barely had enough food to feed the everyone who is present. If you can, please bring something to share.

First Steps Fellowship will be having an interest meeting Sunday October 25th after church in the nursery. This is a group hoping to reach expecting parents and parents of young children (biological, foster, adoptive, kinship, doesn’t matter we welcome all). I am hoping to get a lot of input from the group members about the direction it takes, so stay tuned for more specifics!
