Reminders for Using the Church Facilities
For members who have access to church property after hours...please notify the church office when you plan to use church facilities.
For liability purposes, we need documentation.
There may be times that the gym or fellowship hall has a private rental which would not reflect on the church calendar.
Be conscious in the utility costs to church (which make up the bulk of our operating expenses): turn off lights, make sure no toilets are running and return thermostat to original settings.
All trash should be taken to dumpster (until we hire a custodian).
Make sure the property is secure when leaving (the rear entry door to the Ed building was left unlocked last week).

It is about relationships. It is about serving alongside others. And often, it is about discovering that God was already at work long before you arrived.

CLUMC’s Staff Parish Relations Committee announces an opening for a part-time Church Custodian. The Custodian will work 20 hours per week. The Applicant will also pass a background check.
The responsibilities include:
Keeping the church facilities clean.
Keeping the exterior walkways clean and the grounds free of trash.
Identifying and eliminating fire and safety hazards.
Monitoring and maintaining the lighting in the complex.
Completing special tasks assigned by the Administrative Assistant and/or the Pastor.
Ensuring that all exterior doors are locked, lights turned off, no water running, all thermostats are set to the assigned temperatures, and there are no guests remaining in the buildings nor on the grounds.
A DETAILED LIST OF THE RESPONSIBILITIES IS AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST.
The first 90 days are a probationary period for any Custodian of the Church. This period also serves as on-the-job training with pay.
The hourly rate of pay will be determined by the SPRC and the Finance Committee.

Wednesday Night Dinner: Phillip's WVU Tail Gate party

Wednesday's night is coming. The dinner for the month is sponsored by the United Methodist Men will be a WVU tailgate party in honor of our late custodian, Phillip.
The men are asking that you wear your collegiate gear! The United Methodist Men will provide the hotdogs and hamburgers. However, we are still looking for someone to donate the lettuce and tomatoes for the hamburgers. Please bring your favorite tailgate food to share.
There will be a BIG WVU cake for dessert. There will be a Celebration of Life for Phillip following the meal.
